Noxious Weed Training and Herbicide Give Out Meeting 9:00am Saturday May 24, 2025 at Clubhouse

Timber Ridge Lot Owners, 
This is a Reminder…

We will have a short noxious weed eradication training  and give out herbicide on 9:00am Saturday, May 24th.
Meet at the clubhouse at 9:00am.  Please bring two small plastic bottles to put the chemicals in or your sprayer. 


Also we need Volunteers to spray the right of way on our streets.  If you are interested in Volunteering please contact Ken Siggett 734-634-1499 or ks******@***il.com


If you do spay any sections along our streets right of way let me know so I can mark it down on my map this way I can keep track of what sections have been done.


Colorado’s Timber Ridge Metro District(CTRMD)  provides lot owners with free herbicide  for spraying noxious weeds.  You will receive 2, 4-D herbicide with  a Surfactant Premier 90.  Please see attached file with Label and Instructions. You can get them from Ken Siggett by texting  Ken at 734-634-1499 .   Please bring two small plastic bottles (1 or 2 liter pop bottles work best) to put the chemicals in. They are concentrated and must be mixed with water in a pump sprayer.

As we have seen living in a small mountain town surrounded by national forest lands,  wildfires have become more common and a greater risk to our community.

It is important to understand  the facts on living with fire on the landscape in the Greater Pagosa Area and learn  more on these issues such as:

  • What is being done to protect the Greater Pagosa community from catastrophic  wildfires. 
  • Managing  the surrounding forest  to be  more resilience  to wildfires 
  • History of Wildfires in the Greater Pagosa area.
  • What can you do to lower the risk of fires to your home and property

 We are fortunate to have  some excellent local experts  presenting  on Wildfire Prevention and Education, Forest Health/Management, Defensible Home Space Mitigation, Community Preparedness,  Living with Fire on the Landscape, Home Insurance and other important related topics. 

Please don’t miss this very important Wildfire Education meeting!

Update on Grant funds for Home Fire Mitigation:

San Juan Conservation District has funds available and will be awarding grants to pay for 50% of your project, up to $4,000.  Deadline for application is April 24, 2025

Wildfire Adaptive Partnership(WAP) has home fire mitigation grant funds still available  with reimbursement up to 60% of cost of mitigation. 

Sign up for a Free Wildfire Risk Assessment and learn more about the grant funds available.  WAP(Bill Tramarco)  will start doing assessments on April 24 for 2025.
